Curated by Flutist Wen-Hsiu Angela Lai
From solo recitals to chamber music and orchestral collaborations, I bring emotion, elegance, and storytelling to every performance.
I teach private lessons, lead masterclasses, and guide students toward technical mastery and expressive freedom. Whether beginner or advanced, every lesson is a musical dialogue.
Having walked this path myself, I now help aspiring musicians prepare for U.S. conservatory applications—school choice, audition prep, interviews, and more.
Music has always been my language. Every note I play is a breath, a story, a connection.
I am currently performing with The Orchestra Now, and have previously appeared as a guest flutist with the New World Symphony and AURA Contemporary Ensemble. My performance experience spans the United States, Australia, and Taiwan, from Carnegie Hall to house concerts.
Performance Focus:
Classical solo/chamber/orchestra repertoire
Contemporary music and advanced techniques
Cross-cultural and interdisciplinary collaboration
Community engagements
I am a passionate music educator with experience teaching flute and music fundamentals in both public and private settings. I taught in Houston and Katy school districts (Seven Lakes High School, Adams Junior High, MOLO Montessori), and also taught private lessons at Vivace International School of Music and Overture School of Music.
My pedagogy emphasizes healthy technique, expressive playing, and student confidence, drawing on my background in Art Leadership and Art in Health.
I offer private flute lessons, online and in-person, for students ranging from beginners to pre-professionals. My teaching philosophy centers around healthy technique, expressive musicality, and building artistic confidence. Lessons are tailored to the unique needs of each student, with a strong focus on developing sound, rhythm, and performance mindset.
